Philippe Veys appointed managing director of Herburg Roses and Nini

The appointment is part of the phased transition that began when DFG acquired a stake in Herburg Roses and Nini on 1 January 2023. With Philippe Veys as managing director, the continuity of both farms is secured for the years ahead. 

Board member Marco van der Burg, who is closely connected to the family business Herburg Roses and Nini through his family ties, will step down from the board as of 1 January 2027 and will focus on projects outside DFG. 

The history of the family business dates back to 1974, when Marco’s grandfather Jan founded the company in Berkel en Rodenrijs. His father Huub continued the business, and in 1997 Marco joined as the third generation. In 2017, he took over the reins. In 2006, the company took the step into cultivation in Ethiopia, followed by the expansion of a farm in Kenya in 2021. After many years of working together, DFG became a partner in 2023 to jointly build on the continuity and further development of the farms.
